Bow Door Launch

The concept of this versatile launch evolved from that developed for the 17ft Wheelyboat. The third commission from the same private client, she was built by Upsons of Aldeburgh from 12mm marine ply and epoxy using a kit of CNC router cut components. She is powered by a Beta 22hp diesel via a conventional shaft drive with the propeller running in a shallow tunnel keeping the draft down to 14 1/2″ / 370mm. With her self draining cockpit and built-in buoyancy she meets RCD Cat.C for 10 persons.

The design would be well suited to production in GRP or could be adapted for construction in aluminium.
